Dr. Durrani is the only provider in this practice and will give you his full attention at each in-person or telemed visit. (There is no PA or NP at this time.) Yes, Dr. Durrani also sees women for urologic issues (such as overactive bladder or recurrent UTI’s) as well as hormone replacement therapy consults. He generally refers children out to colleagues at TX Children’s Hospital for expert pediatric urologic care.
Dr. Durrani does a “modified” no-scalpel vasectomy with the following changes: he uses a topical numbing cream to make the skin numb, then injects lidocaine anesthetic via a tiny needle through the already-numbed skin to anesthetize the vas. Once numbed, he makes a tiny hole in the skin (< 1 cm) with a scalpel and performs the rest of the procedure in the same manner. No need for sutures or stitches at the skin.

Dr. Durrani currently performs all of his outpatient surgeries at HCA Houston Healthcare West. This includes circumcisions, kidney stone surgeries, and more. He may also refer you to one of his trusted colleagues in the medical center or at neighboring hospitals in Houston if he believes that they can offer more expertise in a particular area or subspecialty. It’s about finding the best person to do the job, no matter who it is. He wants what’s best for you.
Yes, testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is generally safe for most people, with very few exceptions. Dr. Durrani will monitor your levels typically every 4 months including your estrogen, PSA, and “hematocrit” levels to make sure that no adjustments are necessary. He will go over the pros and cons of each treatment option with you and answer any and all questions that you may have with each visit.
We are open to see patients from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with our last appointment scheduled at 4 pm. We currently do not open on weekends. We are usually able to schedule you an appointment within the same week, and often the same day if you believe it is simple or urgent.
Dr.Durrani speaks English and can understand some French and Hindi/Urdu. All of his staff are fluent in Spanish. (Todo nuestro personal de oficina habla español con fluidez y estará encantado de ayudarle por teléfono o en persona.) If you need an interpreter for any other languages, please let us know ahead of your visit and we will be happy to accommodate.
We currently offer an all-inclusive, self-pay Vasectomy Package for $1,000. This includes the cost of the consultation, vasectomy procedure, post-vasectomy follow ups, and semen analysis testing following the procedure. Of course if you prefer to use your insurance, you are always welcome to do that as well!
We have 2 on-staff phlebotomists available to draw your labs on site for your convenience. Those labs are sent to Clinical Pathology Labs which works with your insurance plan. If you live far away or if would prefer to use Quest or LabCorps, we would be happy to email/print you a requisition form so you can go there. We have an imaging facility downstairs (Simon Med Imaging), but we can also send you to whichever location is best/closest for you.
Dr. Durrani presents all options and will help you find whichever option is best for you. This would depend on many factors such as whether you are using insurance, what your goals are in terms of efficacy, safety, pricing and so forth. Our most common options include: self injections of testosterone cypionate that you either pick up from your local pharmacy (starting at approximately $30/month even without insurance) or have shipped to you directly from a trusted compound pharmacy (Empower Rx or Revive Rx) (starting at approx $50/month). He is also a fan of the branded autoinjector called Xyosted (cost depends on insurance but may range from $0-160/month). In addition he offers pellet therapy at a cost of $750/session (more expensive but may last 4-6 months or even longer). Other patients prefer topical gels or oral testosterone options. Dr. Durrani has experience in offering all forms of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for over 20 yrs and would be happy to find the best fit for you. We offer visits, prescriptions, and lab follow-ups either in-person or via Telehealth to men living anywhere in Texas.
No, formal or traditional testosterone replacement would not generally be the best choice for men who want to have kids in the future. Dr. Durrani will discuss other potentially safer options with you such as oral Clomid or enclomiphene citrate to boost your native testosterone levels and protect your sperm production. Other options include nasal testosterone therapy (brand or compounded) and HCG monotherapy. In men who already have kids and are not necessarily looking to have more, but wish to preserve testicular size, Dr. Durrani also recommends adding HCG doses to their TRT regimen if they wish to do so.
